    Reports for the 2011 Annual Report should be submitted (electronically if possible)  by today to the Secretary of Church Council, Zo Mulder, zmulder@telus.net  The published Annual Reports will be available on Sunday, February 5th.

    Tuesday, 6 pm, Beavers.

    Wednesday,  10 am. Coffee With a Difference at home of Ethel Robinson.

    Thursday, 6 pm, Scouts.

    Friday, 7 pm, “For Those Who Like to Sing”, in the sanctuary. This is a hymn sing event, to be

    held on the first Friday of each month.

     

    Highlights from January 19 meeting of Church Council: discussion of budget for 2012; approval of new website format and host; congregational survey about maintenance/missioning was reviewed:

    decision to report results to congregation on February 5; there will be a Lenten study on Our Words of Faith, which is a “remit” on the doctrine section of the Basis of Union of The United Church; conference on shared ecumenical ministries at Sorrento, March 2-4, if we are interested in sending any reps.

     

    Presbytery Prayer Cycle for this Sunday, January 29 is Prince Rupert Presbytery Executive.

    Next Communion comes on Sunday, February 5th.

     

    Kitimat Food Bank: United Church volunteers are required for February 7 & 9. Speak to FayEllen.

     

    The congregation’s Annual General Meeting is scheduled for after church on Sunday, February 12th.  People have a week to pick up the Annual Report 2011 on February 5th, in preparation for the AGM.

     

    Valentine’s Day is coming and what a perfect time to let your loved ones or to let someone know you care by ordering a Valentine cake for $10.00 choice of chocolate or white and the proceeds go towards the Canadian Food Grains Bank. The Canadian Food grains bank keeps our Canadian Farmers in work also they meet our donation to a 4.1 ratio and helps people around the world in need it is a government run organization. Order forms are at the back of the church please fill out if you would like one and remember to check off your choice of either chocolate or white cake.
